"Beware the military industrial complex." President Eisenhower, Janurary, 1961

Now, in this war on terror, who is the military industrial complex? Well, one billion dollar defense corporation is really a group of military companies called the Carlyle Group. They're in the news today because they suddenly pulled the plug on a planned IPO for their subsidy, United States Marine Repair, which now will be purchased by United Defense Industries, of which Carlyle owns %49.

Just who is the Carlyle Group? Well, for those of you who've been asleep or who just pay too much attention to Republican spin, the Carlyle Group is mostly rich Republican white guys who make a ton of money off war. The list of owners is impressive: Reagan Defense Secretary Carlucci, Bush Jr. election rigger and former secretary of state James Baker, Former British Prime Minister John Major, former Bush Budget Director Darman, and, amoung many others, former president Bush himself. So, while $hrub's pentagon shells out money for war toys to the military industrial complex Ike warned us about, his father gets richer. This of course means that Resident Bush will get rich off his civilian killing war the old fashioned way: he'll inherit it!

Hey, Ike, guess what? A bunch of rednecks whose votes count more than everyone else's didn't listen! Now the government is the military industrial complex.
